  • A new entry...

So...its been a while since I have posted anything. When sitting before my once beloved xanga screen I think about all that I experienced with xanga and feel sorrowful that I have left it behind. To be honest, blogging, which once was a therapeutic past time for me, has now become a wayward thing of the past now filled with facebook games, one line updates, and other internet site perusing. Its not that blogging wasn't helpful for me. Its that that the typical fast paced life style caught up with me and facebook filled my needs for my internet social lifle without the fuss of having to "update" on my xanga. However, I have missed it and even though my life could not get any busier at the present moment, its calls my name.

A lot has happened. Elijah is growing up. I know...they grow up way to fast. He will be 2 years old in January. He has been a proficient walker/runner and can say almost anything. His favorite past times are coloring, playing musical instruments, and "mouncing" otherwise known as being thrown around on the bed or couch by daddy. (Mommy doesn't do as good of a job).

Jeremiah returned from Iraq last December, almost a year ago. Now he has returned to school pursuing psychology with the intentions of obtaining his doctorate. Its great having him home. It felt so good to have him here for Thanksgiving and we are very much looking forward to Christmas.

And I'm doing well. I'm about to gradute. December 19th will mark the day that I will be done with my counseling education and John Brown University will launch me into the feild fully armed with the humility that i know nothing at all. I still have to pass the National Licensure Exam and the State Board of Counselor's Oral exam in January. Then I will be eligible to become employed in the state of Arkansas as a mental health professional. I never though this day would come and now that it has it feels unreal and I don't feel prepared.

As far as a little sister or brother for Elijah, Jeremiah and I are going to hold off on having another baby until we are both finished with school. Although, I have a fairly bad case of baby fever

Well...that is the brief update. I hope to re-get to know everyone again. Hope you all had a happy Turday Day!

  • FINE!!!! I'LL DO AN ENTRY

It has been over three months since I posted last...yeah...i know i'm a slacker. My brain stopped working. You know how a blogger's brain works. You start walking around experiencing life, and as you experience things you think to yourself... "I think I'll blog about this". Then you go write a lengthy post about it and wait for the responses. There is something therapeutic about blogging and as I have been doing counseling in my internship I have advised some of my client's to blog about their problems in order to vent some of their frustrations. It feels good even to do these things anonymously so that others who don't know you can relate to want you are saying and normalize some of the freaky things we as humans go through. Unfortunatly for the last few months the mechanism in my brain that inspires me to blog hasn't been working. But the constant NAGGING from my family has encouraged me to start updating my life so that at least Elijah can get his pictures and videos out there. So I'm taking the advice I give to my clients am welcoming myself back into the blogging world. At least this way maybe I can vent about some things too.

    Ok update...

I'm good...and BUSY!! Here is what I did today
7am - wake up with my little man and make breakfast. Shower, dress, get ready
8:30am- go to work (where I don't get paid because its an internship)
6:00 - get home late because I had a mini crisis at work today that put me behind schedule
    6:15 -make dinner
7:00 - bathe Elijah and get him dressed
    7:15 clean kitchen dishes
7:30 vacuum and put a load of laundry in the wash
    8:00 put elijah to bed
8:15 clean a few more things around the house and get another load of laundry together
    8:30 -more cleaning
9:00 get to finally sit down and just rest for a second, but I have some homework to do *sigh*

I'm so busy I can hardly breathe. I'm still doing school. I will graduate this December...YEAH! and I decided to be insane and start training for a relay marathon that I am running this Sunday in REALLY cold weather. I am so not looking forward to this.

Jeremiah has been back from Iraq for over 3 months now and things are doing really well. I love him so much! We have so much fun together and I definitely feel blessed to have him home with me.

    Ok...Update on Elijah

Elijah is 14 months old now. He can say about ten words (although they all sound weird) and he has six teeth now. He isn't walking but I know he can do it. he walks around holding onto Jeremiah and I's finger. We aren't offering him any support it just seems he can't quite shed the training wheels yet. Elijah is such a little joy for Jeremiah and I. He is such a good natured baby and hardly fusses or complains. He is really social and loves being around other people. He will "talk" to you too in his own language! He is such a delight!

Ok...here are some pics for the viewing. I will TRY to update periodically.

    Happy Family

  • Who knew I would fall off the face of the earth when my hubby got back?

Yes I'm fine and no I'm not dead...lol. I looked at my last entry and I was like "Has it really been 2 months since I posted last??" Why yes it has!! Holy Cow! I used to xanga nearly DAILY...and since I haven't been posting TRUST ME...I have been blogging in my head and its driving me nust. I think my lack of xanga posting has resulted from a lack of the need to vent frustrations...life is pretty good. On top of that I have been a little unfaithful to my xanga. Yes *hangs head in shame* I have discovered a new source to meet friends and connect with people online...Facebook!! I love facebook. BUt don't worry I still love xanga. Xanga is a better place to blog and let out your thoughts. Facebook is just at great place to make sentences that people read and laugh at...lol. But if you are on facebook, ADD ME! Haha. I stream my xanga blogs through my facebook so taht I don't have to write things twice..lol

So things have been GREAT! Jeremiah got back in December and I had a wonderful Christmas! School started last week and I'm overwhelmed with all that I have to do. I have 3 classes and an internship that is INTENSE! Everyday is emotionally exhausting. Not to mention the fact that my HUSBAND IS HOME...and I have to cutest baby in the world that just turned 1 years old TODAY! (pictures will come soon). In the mean time I am going to post some of the pics on my hubby coming home. I should have posted them MONTHS ago! I miss all you guys!

And a special thanks to Cowboy for sending me an email and bugging me to get my lazy butt back on xanga...HAHA!

About Me

  • I just got married in August 2006 to the man of my dreams! We had a fairy tale wedding. We had our first little baby on January 18th, 2008. He is such a little joy in our lives. His name is Elijah Leorian Beene. I am finishing my graduate work in marriage and family therapy this December and will then become licensed as a Marriage and family therapist in the state of Arkansas. WOOT! I love running, playing with Elijah, hanging out with my husband and playing online video games, and just getting to know people!
