I'm upset...and I don't want to talk about it. I am not surprised Obama won...but I'm upset by it. I haven't ever talked about politics on my xanga because I want it to be a happy place and usual discussions of politics are hurtful and offensive to people. However, I am upset...its late..and I have no one else to vent to except my trusty xanga page.
I just don't think enough people took the time to really research the candidates and understand what their policies are and how that aligns with personal beliefs and values. I don't think enough people really know who Obama is. I'm sad because I feel like America doesn't care. I feel like we care more about what is best for "me" rather than what is best for our country. When did we stop looking at the bigger picture and just care about ourselves? When did we stop fighting for our country and more importantly our FREEDOM? Is this what our country was founded on? My husband fights for our country every day. Every day his life is in danger. The results of this election make me feel like America thinks my husband's sacrifice is a joke. meh....I don't want to talk about it.
Here is a pic of Elijah on Halloween. he was a spider

A huge ditto.. ... ......
(Elijah is sooooo adorable!!!!!!!)
*lol* Great picture.
what FREEDOM are we fighting for? My husband is serving this country as well, and his life is in danger everyday as well. McCain wanted our troops in war, is that what you want? or would you rather have your husband at home with you and your son?
OMG that is such a cute picture!!!! I love his costume!!!!
I have never really gotten much into politics and will be the first to admit that I knew/know nothing about either one, but I did notice from other people talking that they were deciding who to vote for based on one thing that matched how they felt and not the whole picture.
Amen sister! I was so upset waking up this morning and finding that Obama won. I was in tears. I don't know who saraxqt is but she seemed kind of selfish in her comment. It's like these people don't understand the history of this country and how war, even though it's a scary thing, has solved many things and was the key of turning this country into a great nation. Obama wants to cut funding to the troops and pull them out without a good exit stragedy. That's danger for ALL!
On another note, I realize that God has a plan and purpose through everything. We have made it through before and He can get us through this time.
Elijah looked so cute for Halloween.
Your little man has gotten so big and he is so cute!
I am not shocked by the decision our country made either but I like you am also upset.
@saraxqt - That was completely ignorant and the kind of "ME" thinking sophiabeene was talking about. She's too nice to say it so I'll say it on her behalf. How freaking insensitive are you?
Hey girl. Hang in there. I am upset too but as I was watching the results roll in last night I had peace. Remember: "Daniel 2:21 - "It is He [the God of heaven]…who removes kings and establishes
kings." and also Job 42:2 - "I know that You [the God of Israel] can do all
things, and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted." No matter what, God is in control. He will take care of the faithful.
My views on the election, I'm not happy either... someone I know once said "if you vote democratic you're giving up your birthright" I mean HELLO they are pro-abortion which just isn't right... but anyways, I think God is sick of America turning it's back on him, so this is their punishment.
amen sister! I def. lost sleep last night over the results last night. I just keep praying.
@saraxqt - I have to agree with the sophiabeene and the other woman you are exactly the kind of self centered person who is driving this great country into the ground. I am not surrprised Obama won, he was great at appealing to individuals. Do you know who else was a charismatic leader, Hitler. Americans need to wake up and start seeing the big picture.
Sophiabeene I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Again I can not say thank you enough to you and your husband for the sacrifices you are making for us. You are always welcome to call if you just need to talk, or we can chat about old times and try and get our minds of the other stuff at least for a little while. I will send you my number in a private message.
Take care!
If i was in the states i wouldn't know who to vote for.. I'm in Canada but anytime you need to vent let me know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Elijah is sooo cute in his costume!! :)
@wifemommbanowwhat - @tulsa_cruiser06 - no, y'all needa open y'all eyes and see what our next great President have to offer. Is YOUR husband in the military? Is YOUR husband risking his life everyday in war? If no, I don't wanna hear your negative comments.
@SavingMySoul - how am I being selfish? Im being selfish because I want my husband home instead of this stupidass war? yeah, I'm so selfish. it seems to me that these military wives who were for Mccain are just money-hungry bitches that are afriad that their husbands are gonna be out of a job? shit, I rather have my husband out of a job than risking his life! MONEY HUNGRY BITCHES. money is more important to you than your husband? y'all needa get a reality check and that's sad
You're entitled to your opinion. Don't let these ppl make you feel any less of a person for what you believe in.
You're from Arkansas! Came across your profile in one of the groups and seen you were from Bentonville hollaaa! haha, i'm from Russellville, and my baby girl was born in January of 08 also, so that's another thing we have in common, precious 10 month old babies!! :)
About your post...
Everyone is entitled to their opinions and beliefs. In the end, we have to set aside our differences and come together as one. It is what it is. Obama was elected our president which has shown how far our country has come. I'm so proud and excited to be apart of history. So like I said, in the end we have to sed aside our differences and work together to help this country move forward for the better.
@saraxqt - I'm not on here to argue. Your husband wasn't forced to join the military. He did that on his own. Jeremiah, among the many in uniform, are sacrificing their lives for this great nation. They are NOT selfish! I have quite a few military wives who are going through what you are and I can't begin to imagine how that feels. But reacting the way you did to Amy was selfish. She was just trying to vent. If you don't like what she says than just keep it to yourself ... but then again, this is a free country ... thanks to those who fought and died for it.
@saraxqt - OH and I'm not money hungry. Obama is going to raise taxes on businesses which means those businesses will cut jobs because they can't afford employees. DUH! Start using your brain instead of your emotions. Money is not important to me, it's important to democrats. They want our hard earned money. Great! If you want to argue with me than learn your facts first. Also learn some new vocabulary words. The ignorant use words like "bitch." Grow up!
Just wanted to say, I appreciate all your husband has sacrificed
.
Without getting into the drama, or saying whether or not I am for Obama.... I DO think many, many voters saw McCain as the next "Bush" and just desperately wanted something/someone..ANYONE, but another Bush.
Sorry Amy, I got a little carried away there. I'm just so sick of dealing with ignorance. I do have faith that things will work out. This is just one of those examples that history repeats itself - look at the Carter years. Someone will come in the next time and clean the mess up.
wow it'd ridiculous how people cant even voice their opinions without getting attacked...
but your babyboy is getting so big! and the picture is absoutly adorable!!!! <33
Your little boy is SO cute! I agree with your post...it is a very sad day for America. I am sorry you are so lonely for your husband my fiance just joined the Air Force this past summer. I hope that he comes home soon for you!!
Hey, my perfect wife! I love the Halloween photo of our little spider! It's funny, the elections seem sort of surreal over here since we don't get much in the way of news or ... well, anything. As far as the debate of Republican vs. Democrat, it's important to realize two things when you're debating an idea...first, you have to let your emotions play their part. Feel whatever you feel, that's natural. Then, clear that aside and think logically about the subject and pursue the correct answer, not the answer you want. Well, I'm not here to tell people what to do, so take that with a grain of salt if you'd like, but I just thought I'd throw it out there for whoever's willing to listen. I love you, Amy, and I'll be home hopefully by Christmas! *fingers crossed*
Hey...I feel your pain but even though I have always voted conservative I voted some independents and the McCain ticket on the 4th....but I still feel we must be positive. Your husband is a hero in my book along with his fellow soldiers. Our country is strong and we can only look upward...to look down would give all those people who want us to appear weak more of a voice. So hang in there girl and keep loving your hubby, your baby and your country. We shall prevail.
